All of LDS instructors are ADI qualified and are registered with the DSA. Our Instructors are friendly and professional while incouraging you to learn and develop your driving skill, we work through a driving syllabus to ensure all areas of driving are covered where practically possible. This provides you with sound foundation towards passing you driving test and being a safe driver on the roads.

Overview of what to expect on your First Lesson

You are required to provide the instructor with both parts of your licence and you eyesight is checked to ensure you meet the required standard of 20.5meters , which is about five car lengths.

This lesson is designed to introduce you to driving, getting to know your instructor and for the instructor to assess your level of understanding. You will be issued with a log book and introduced to our progress chart system.

We cover the safety aspects of entering and exiting the vehicle and the use of the main controls which is an important lesson to ensure you have the knowledge and understanding on how the vehicle works. Once confident in the controls of the vehicle your instructor will then teach you how to move off and stop on the left, which is an easily mastered skill.

When confident you will then gain skill and experience in changing p the gears and building up speed and stopping of the left. This manoeuvre builds your confidence and improves vehicle control which allows you to progress onto further development. The training provided is at a pace to suit you and is systematically structured for ease of understanding.
